Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) Boiler Island – Georgia Pacific, Port Hudson, LA |
IDS, Engineering Subcontractor
to Kvaerner Power, Inc. for the installation of the Boiler Island
Pressure Parts, Boiler Interconnecting Piping Primary and Secondary Combustion
Air Ducting systems and Flue Gas Ducting System.
IDS has provided Plant Design, Stress Engineering and
Design/Drafting support on several supporting systems for
the Port Hudson project. Areas of technical support include
the design and engineering of the following; Plant General
Arrangement layout and design, Equipment Interference
checking, Boiler Water and Steam Circulation piping systems,
Air Heater and Combustion Air ducting design, Flue Gas
ducting and Ash Hopper designs and all associated load
calculations, duct support design and platework stiffening.
IDS has also provided Kvaerner Power, Inc. with in office Plant
Design support throughout the design phase of the project.
IDS personnel have coordinated with the project team to
develop the Plant 3-D CAD Models and project General
Arrangement drawings and documentation. |

IDS,
Engineering Subcontractor to Foster Wheeler Energy
Corporation for two (2) new 120.6 kg/sec Foster Wheeler CFBC
Boilers located in Southern Thailand.
IDS has provided Plant Design, Stress Engineering and

| First Energy Bay Shore Power Project, Oregon, Ohio, USA |
IDS, "On-Site" Construction Engineer/Supervisor for
Foster Wheeler Energy Services Inc., during the
Construction Phase & Pre-Hydro Test activities, on the
installation of a 1,000,000 lb/hr CFB Boiler, burning
100% petroleum coke.
IDS has provided Construction Supervision & "On-Site"
Engineering assistance during the installation of the
Boiler Island components. Responsibilities include;
performing inspections of the Combustion Chamber, Steam
Cooled Cyclone, "J" Valve (Loopseal), Convection Cage,
Air Heater and interconnecting components such as, Steam
and Water Circulation Piping systems and Air & Flue Gas
ductwork. IDS personnel worked closely with FWEC site
management team and FW's construction division Foster
Wheeler Zack, to support and help expedite a fast track
construction schedule, while maintaining a high "Quality
Control" system for the construction and installation of
the boiler components.
Additional responsibilities include, scheduling,
construction deviation report tracking, preparation of
design layout sketches for field changes required to
various auxiliary piping systems and ductwork components
in order to alleviate possible interferences or
conflicting equipment interface points. |
