Industrial Design Services, Inc. (IDS)
IDS is a multi-disciplined consulting Engineering, Design & Drafting service company with many years of experience in
providing highly qualified, technical engineering and design support in the fields of Boiler Plant Design, Engineering, and
Computer Aided Design/Drafting Services on large industrial engineering projects. IDS’s engineering staff is registered with the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), and
currently holds Professional Engineering (PE) Licenses in sixteen (16) states including; California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Montana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin, to name a few. Note: IDS can apply for additional State PE license’s per client/project request.

   

Boiler Stress Analysis, Piping Design and Engineering;
IDS’s Boiler Piping experience includes; Boiler Internal & Furnace Wall Pressure Parts, Boiler Interconnecting Piping, Circulation Water Piping, Main Steam Piping, Vent & Drain Piping, Natural Gas Piping, Sootblower Piping, Instrument Air Piping, as well as, performing piping Stress Analysis, Boiler Code Calculations and Pipe Support Design. Code Calculations are performed in accordance with; ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, Sections I, II, & VIII, ASME Power Piping Code B31.1 and B31.3, ASME B16.5, B16.9, B16.25 and/or as required by customer specifications.

 
           
 

Structural Design and Engineering;
IDS’s Structural Steel Design and Engineering experience includes; Developing Loading Diagrams, Equipment Foundation Design, Boiler & Furnace Buckstay Systems, Auxiliary Equipment Support Structures, Access Platforms and Stair Towers. Structural & Stress Engineering experience includes Ductwork & Flue Platework strength & stiffening calculations, Duct & Flue duct supports, loading criteria calculations including; thermal expansion movements, live loads, dead loads, seismic, wind and snow loads, as required per project specifications. All Structural components are designed and engineered in accordance with current industry codes and standards including;
ASCE, ANSI, ASTM, AISC, AWS, ICBO-UBC, IBC among others, or as required per project specifications. IDS is familiar with International Codes & Standards including; DIN, JIS, European Standards, Euro-Norms, CISC, BOCA, Canadian Construction Standards and Australian Design Standards among others.

   

Mechanical System Design and Engineering;
IDS’s Mechanical Equipment Engineering & Design experience includes; Developing Fuel Feed systems, Sand and Limestone
systems, Ash Handling systems, Economizer Casing, Tubular Air Heaters & Heat Exchangers, Windbox & Plenum
designs, Combustion Air ducting systems, Flue Gas ducting systems, Ash Hopper designs and all required platework stiffening
and support designs. IDS can develop all applicable load calculations including; thermal expansion movements, live
loads, dead loads, seismic, wind and snow loads, in accordance with applicable codes.

 
           
 

Computer Aided Design/Drafting and Engineering Software;
CADD - IDS utilizes the latest version of AutoCAD?, AutoPLANT? (AutoPIPE and ProSTEEL), as our main 3D Modeling
and Drawing development software. IDS staff is also trained and utilizes other 2-D & 3-D software programs such as AutoCAD Inventor, Solid Works , Pro/Engineer , Microstation and PDMS to name a few.
Engineering - IDS utilizes CAESAR II? as our main Pipe Stress analysis program, as well as AutoPIPE? and CAEPIPE. IDS utilizes STAAD Pro, RISA-3D , RISA Section and RAM Connection for performing Structural Steel design and analysis. Our staff is also trained and capable of utilizing other engineering and spread sheet programs such as; MECA - Wind & Seismic, FE Nozzle Pro, FE Pipe, FINNSAP, COSMOS and MS EXCEL

   

On Site (Construction Site) Design & Engineering Support;
IDS can perform Plant Inspections to address plant operation and maintenance issues and provide written recommendations and design solutions to address erection and construction issues. IDS can develop design layout sketches for field routed piping systems and components. Perform Shop Fabrication inspections and develop “As-Built” drawings and documentation
for a newly completed project or of an existing facility for Retrofit projects.
